How to Share Files and Folders with OneDrive


In this section you will learn how to share files and folder with OneDrive.


1. Open your preferred web browser and go to the website: https://celinatx-my.sharepoint.com/


2. From here, you will want to click on the "Upload" button and click on Files or Folder respectively.

*For this example I will choose Folder, but both selections work in the same way.


3. A file explorer window will pop up. Select the File or Folder that you wish to upload to OneDrive, and click Upload.


4. You may get a pop-up window stating that you should only upload files if you trust this site, click "Upload".


5. After a few moments (depending on the size of the upload), you should see your files or folder pop up in the window. Select the Item(s) that you would like to share, and click "Share".


6. When you click Share, a box will pop up, enter the names, or email addresses of the people you wish to share with. If you would like to change the editing permissions of the people that will be accessing the files or folders, click on the pencil icon to the right, and select the appropriate permissions.


7. Once you are done adding people to the list, you have three options on how to send the link.

  • Copy Link

       

        Pressing Copy Link will allow you to imbed the link into your own custom email to whomever you would like to share with.

       

       Clicking on the Outlook button will open up Outlook.com and populate a message with the link for you.

  • Send through webpage

       

        This is the least suggested method, but if you do, make sure to fill out the Message box, as if you do not, it will send a very bland looking email.
